In the fall of 2017, Bill MacDonald retired to his favourite Gulf Island, after half a century of practising law. We wish him well in his retirement!
Bill MacDonald is a barrister in civil litigation and qualified as a mediator by the Law Society of BC having completed his advanced mediation training. He acts as a mediator and arbitrator in labour relations and commercial matters. Bill has represented corporations and industry associations in collective bargaining as spokesman, negotiator and counsel. For ten years, he was the Head of Course for the Arbitration Skills Workshop hosted annually by the Business Council of British Columbia and was counsel for the BC Corrections Branch on two Royal Commission
Bill has appeared before the British Columbia Supreme Court, the Court of Appeal, the Tax Court of Canada, the Federal Court of Canada, the Federal Court of Appeal, the Canada Industrial Relations Board, the British Columbia Labour Relations Board, before tribunals established under the Canada Labour Code, the BC Employment Standards Act, federal and provincial Human Rights legislation, Workers Compensation and Employment Insurance statutes and other administrative tribunals at both the federal and provincial levels.
Bill serves clients in civil litigation, administrative, labour and employment matters before federal and provincial courts and tribunals. He engages in mediation, arbitration and negotiation with skill, integrity, experience and knowledge. Bill is a trusted adviser for many individuals and businesses throughout the Province. Bill has now divested himself of management functions for Dogwood Law and concentrates on serving clients utilizing the work-life balance Dogwood Law offers all of its associates.
